As a result, the bread is not torn, but perfectly cut with every movement, breadcrumbs are reduced to a minimum. Of course, this excellent Kai Shun bread knife not only cuts bread and rolls, but also cuts large fruits and vegetables perfectly. KAI SHUN - DAMASCUS KNIFE SERIES The bread knife from Kai is sharpened on one side for right-handers and made of a specially developed, stainless Damascus steel with 32 layers. The inner layer is made of VG MAX steel, a steel that is highly corrosion-resistant and extremely hard (611 HRC, 1.0% carbon, 1.5% cobalt) and that keeps the blade permanently sharp with proper care. Another guarantee for the incomparable sharpness of the Kai Shun bread knife is the convex grind of the blade and the manual honing, which allow the Kai bread knife to glide effortlessly through even the most difficult cuts. This sharpness, coupled with the balanced weight of the knife, allows fatigue-free work. The refinement of the naturally beautiful Damascus grain gives the Kai Shun bread knife its unique and individual character, to which the handle made of laminated, black-brown pakka wood (Japanese pine) also contributes. Laminated pakka wood handles reflect the natural beauty of treated woods and are highly resistant to heat and moisture. Kai Shun bread knife - each knife is unique. KAI SHUN BREAD KNIFE - CARE In order to enjoy your valuable bread knife from Kai for a long time, you should follow a few care tips: Rinse with hot water before using it for the first time. Wash after each use without aggressive detergent and dry well with a soft cloth. Do not leave the Kai Shun bread knife in the water for too long and never put it in the dishwasher! Rub the handle from time to time with a wood care oil or neutral vegetable oil. It is best to use wooden boards or plastic cutting mats with medium strength as a cutting surface, glass or granite slabs will ruin the cutting edge even with the hardest steel. When storing, care should be taken to ensure that the cutting edge of the Kai Shun bread knife does not come into contact with other metallic objects.
