Each elephant rescue tells of the challenges the young one's face in the wild: An air patrol discovered Pika-Pika, a milk-dependent calf that was following a group of adult bulls and straying from the life-sustaining herd. The elephant orphan Pika Pika has now been made into porcelain, decorated with golden ginkgo leaves. The ginkgo leaf symbolizes hope and friendship. It stands for adaptability and a long life. The ginkgo tree is also called the elephant foot tree or lucky tree and is therefore a particularly good symbol for the range.
