What does Lab Grown Diamond mean?
Lab-grown diamonds are composed of the same chemical crystal structure as natural diamonds and exhibit the same fire, brilliance, and sparkle.
How Are Lab Grown Diamonds Made?
Lab-grown diamonds are made in a lab, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). The process starts with what is known as a “diamond seed,” a single crystal diamond in a slice about as thick as a human hair is placed into a chamber. This is then exposed to a carbon-rich gas and fired-up up to extremely high temperatures. Over a matter of just weeks, the carbon gas converts and the particles stick to the original diamond slice, before eventually crystallising into a fully formed diamond.
In the same way as natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds go through strict grading assessment during certification by grading laboratories like GIA. They assess the lab-grown diamond by the usual cut, colour, and clarity standards amongst other details. Therefore, you can find a lab-grown diamond equally beautiful as a top-quality natural diamond and certify that the diamond is lab created by CVD.
What Makes the Perfect Lab Grown Diamond?
The 4Cs of diamond grading are universally recognized and are a guiding light in the world of diamonds, helping to determine the quality and value of each laboratory grown diamond.
Why Choose Lab Grown Diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds’ only difference from a natural diamond is that they are carefully natured in a lab, making them ethical, sustainable, conflict-free, and eco-friendly, leaving a minimal carbon footprint on our planet.
Laboratory Grown Diamond Certification
All Lab-ground diamonds above 0.50ct will come with a authentication certificate.
