I am thinking of an old cat, her name is Tupfentapfenschecken. Her dress is of the variegated kind, with stripes and leopard spots. T.S. Eliot – with this quote Rosina Wachtmeister leads us from the poetic to the artistic world. A rhythmic alternation of strokes, spots and shadings, combined with her distinctive cat design, form an inimitable unity. Her usually so colourful painting is replaced by the subdued colours brown, cream, black and ocher, thus the pictures get a new extraordinary character. Goebel transferred these original motifs onto its lovingly created cat models, but her paintings can also be found on tableware items, such as cups, tea for one, coasters and placemats.
